Day 14-Body conscious...yayy or Nayy?

I am sure most women would give an arm and a leg to be able to eat a huge slab of Chocolate chiffon cake and wake up like a Victoria secret model...How blissful does that sound?But sad..Life is not so...Especially for people like me..who don't even have to eat the goddamned cake..Just one stealthy look..and bam....1 inch up!
I grew up in a family which had very serious and strict dress rules-If you don't have slim long legs-no jeans..If you do not have small boobs..no T-shirt..Halter neck is for sluts and mini skirts are for whores...the list is endless...
As a result, I never got to wear about 90% of the styles out in the market-short sleeves, sleeveless, body hugging clothes, dresses, shorts, capris, You name it..I couldn't wear it..Shopping became difficult, and body confidence fell by atleast a 10% after every visit to the shop(do they make pretty clothes ONLY for the skinny bitches? Damnn!!!!)
It took me a very very long time to understand that prejudice is within...taboo is inside you...You are your biggest critic. People have better things to do than to comment on your body or outfit..And even if they do...its just that moment...its over..move on guys!Get a life!
Is it worth sacrificing little pleasures in this short life and perennially live a life of regret ?I think not
The next time you see a sleeveless crop top..pick it up..tick off that checklist of "I wish I could wear...."
You probably would look like a buffoon, you may never want to stand in front of the mirror for sometime...but atleast you aren't going to regret NOT doing something..
Let us accept those Muffin tops and large boobs ..Let us fall in love with our bodies because if you can't accept yourself, who will?

Day 17-Mediocrity-is the name of the game

Of the many lessons that I have learnt after a few years of working in the corporate world and a few others in education, I have come to realise something about this nation that disturbs me. I use the word Nation and not the world because I do not know about the other races and so I refrain from giving my opinion on them. Day 34-Why Education?

I come from a country that has proven , time and again that in order to be successful, education may not be necessary. I have seen way too many men who haven't been educated but have made shit loads of money. So why be educated? Is education a tool to having a career/making money/securing a successful partner/making a name in the society? If that is so, why not teach children in schools ONLY about Physics and Maths and Chemistry and may be a bit of money management? Why do we teach Art and craft? Why do we want children to participate in the million activities-drama, dance, music, elocution and all of that importance we lay on extra curricular activities? Why help children acquire good handwriting? Why show them to appreciate music and art? No matter how hard I think, I go back to Montessori's answer-that one theory that is the basis of the Montessori principle-EDUCATION AS AN AID TO LIFE.
