Day 32-Heroes

All of us have gone through the phase of hero worship.Havent we?
What was your kind of hero?
For most of us this hero was a charismatic strong man who could dance and fight . He probably was also very stylish? And most of our heroes were fake..as in they were heroes only in the silver screen. Nobody even knew/knows what kind of lives they led/lead and whether or not they were really all that we say on the screen.
These days of course children also have tennis and football players as their heroes, James Bond, Pop stars, Hollywood stars and what not.
How many of us have hero worshipped Albert Einstein, Mahatma Gandhi, Thomas Alva Edison or Graham Bell. And why not?
How much do we even know about these people forget adopting them as our idols!
Lets go further backwards and think about the early man. The one who made the first hand axe..the ones who discovered fire and the wheel..The ones who domesticated animals, the ones who found out that when a seed fell on the ground, it could potentially grow into a plant that could give food. The ones who found the first machines, the ones who invented symbols for sounds, the ones who came up with the idea of trade and exchange, the ones who planned cities. How many unsung heroes!
These are the people we need to be grateful to...they are worthy of being in awe of...For...if it weren't for them, where would we have been in the timeline of progress?
Let us talk to our children about these heroes because of which they lead comfortable and secure lives, instead of having to hunt for food everyday or constantly live in the fear of being attacked by a wild animal.
The next time you hear your child asking for the poster of Roger Federer or Lionel Messi or Beyonce to put up in the walls of their room, you know what you need to do!
May our children worship the REAL heroes - ones who made a difference to not just their families or communities, but to the whole of humanity!
