Day 33-New item in the compatibility checklist
Most people at some point or the other reach a point in life where they find themselves alone..with God. All through this journey of life, we travel with this companion called God..forgetting him during good times and remembering, bribing and doing business deals with Him when things don't go too well.We all realise that we came alone into this world and will probably leave the world alone..so no matter how many companions we travel with in this journey, the only one who remains constant is God.
When we were very young, we were taught that if we do not do the wrong things, we will be punished by God...and if we do the right things, yes, He will reward us. So eventually somewhere we get into a business relationship. OFFERING something is key..the more you offer, the more you will get. We have seen people flock to the famous places of worship to offer jewellery and money and what not. As if God is some kind of a Mafia king.
Many of us have also been trained to FEAR God. "God Fearing" is a great virtue to have. A "god Fearing" person is a "good" person.
How many times have we been told to Love God? How many of us can surrender and owe all our victories and failures and even our very existence to him?How many of us WONT beg and ask for anything no matter how bad our life is?
If it is true that God is a "belief"-a formless, genderless being free of senses and emotions and judgement, why do we fear doing bad and pride doing good?
The truth is this idea of "God" is an extremely personal one-for some he/she is a being who watches us or protects us...for some God is the most compassionate being who will be by our side no matter what the rest of the world says/does. For some, God is a partner-a strong , all prevalent one, who can make things happen, and assure success when one asks for it.
This definition that we derive of course is based on our experiences-happy and sorrowful. One needs to do this for himself without consulting or being influenced by anyone and obviously there is no right or wrong.
Rationalists would mock at those who approach God as if He were some benevolent king who showers them with riches and happiness and peace.
But this is not something one can "judge". My journey is mine and yours is unique to you.
So when you choose a partner, apart from the million compatibilities you tick off, it is probably a good idea to check your spiritual alignment as well. No?
