Day 53- a dark dark world

The world of books is as enchanting as it is powerful..it has the power to transport you to a different plane..to help you smell and see and hear things that you have possibly never experienced before in life.It pushes you into a world of magic and helps you bask in warmth on a cold rainy day.
Rarely it also does the exact opposite. It unveils the dark soul...and bleeds the heart. It pushes you to re-live a life of guilt, sorrow, remorse, regret and hopelessness.
Sometimes as I read a book, I feel a steady increase in my weight...a striking of the lightning down the spine..an inexplicable storm that could uproot all the days of hope and sunshine.
Yet the book is un-put-downable. It makes you want more of the pain..like there was some pleasure in that pain. Like tears feel like the only way to redemption. That darkness is warm too sometimes.
Certain authors have the power to hold your soul and make it dance on their fingertips...with you feeling completely powerless. It may even takes a few days to get over the sorrow.
While this sorrow is even comforting sometimes, it can be addictive..leading one to more such experiences ...craving for more blackness...bleakness..emptiness.One needs to be extremely perceptive to identify this and arrest it immediately.
Imagination-a boon or a bane..I wonder!I wonder!
