Day 61-The Green monster

I get jealous..sometimes..(ok many times)..there I said it!Phew!
You know how in your moral science classes they always told you that jealousy is a vice and if you are jealous you are sure to lose out on life? Yes, I know that is maybe partially true and I also know that many of us would just not accept this but we are all jealous of someone..something..
Thanks to Facebook and all those "on your face" posts where you see the most perfect life of the person who shouldn't deserve it(in your opinion) but unfortunately for you does lead a very beautiful life..a life you should be leading ..dammittt!
Have you seen that beautiful ..long legged..fair..doe eyed...richhhhhhh...girl who walks in with the stud of a man and carries some 5 digit number value of products in her arms, just after one Sunday shopping spree? Well..glad you noticed her..I did too..but have you noticed the other women in the store..the one hiding behind a kurta frantically checking if it is on sale..the one with the most irritated...angry husband (for dragging him along to the most boring chore of his life)....the woman trying about 10 clothes and fitting into none of them bcos sorry ma'am..."5Xl is not a size that we have in this store"...have you seen the colours of these women turning mildly green in the store and a deep green in the privacy of their home ? Well that is life my darlings!
How does one deal with this vice...something we would all hate to admit..but can't keep the monster from showing his ugly face now and then?
I have always struggled with this ..and have many times felt so shameful...
But the first step to dealing with this monster is to own it..face it..embrace it and say.."Hey there..I know you exist..but I am not going to let you consume me...You can stay there...and leave when you want to..Happy camping" and carry on with life..
There is absolutely no need to feel shameful nor be defensive about it...
On the positive side...you just went green..it is eco friendly people ..lol!(horrible P joke..please forgive me!)

Day 34-Why Education?

I come from a country that has proven , time and again that in order to be successful, education may not be necessary. I have seen way too many men who haven't been educated but have made shit loads of money. So why be educated? Is education a tool to having a career/making money/securing a successful partner/making a name in the society? If that is so, why not teach children in schools ONLY about Physics and Maths and Chemistry and may be a bit of money management? Why do we teach Art and craft? Why do we want children to participate in the million activities-drama, dance, music, elocution and all of that importance we lay on extra curricular activities? Why help children acquire good handwriting? Why show them to appreciate music and art? No matter how hard I think, I go back to Montessori's answer-that one theory that is the basis of the Montessori principle-EDUCATION AS AN AID TO LIFE. Day 17-Mediocrity-is the name of the game

Of the many lessons that I have learnt after a few years of working in the corporate world and a few others in education, I have come to realise something about this nation that disturbs me. I use the word Nation and not the world because I do not know about the other races and so I refrain from giving my opinion on them.
