Day 63-Fat aka ugly

It wouldn't be an exaggeration to state that fat is synonymous with ugly..both words are extremely inappropriate to use these days...be careful ...or you may be sued..
Nevertheless...fat is synonymous to "unprivileged", "unaffordable", "struggle", "pain", "shame" and "neglected".
Why? I wonder!
We want to have babies that are fat, cats and dogs fat, purse that is fat but when a person is fat...you gawk...mock..sympathise and laugh at?
I wonder who decided on this norm that fat is ugly and slim is sexy.
What if the opposite had happened?
Hypothetically speaking...if fat was associated with beautiful and rich and slim/thin with unlucky and poor, how would the world be?
All the models on TV and magazines would be size 14 plus. Size 14 would be S. The XL section of the shop would be the most sought after. You would hate to admit that you are a S. Boys would run after Xl girls and the S girls would have a complex. There would be group that would try and start a new movement.."Slim is not ugly"
Ohhh how beautiful that world looks to me. I would still not be the most sought after ..but I would look down upon the poor skinny girls and console them..that ..."its ok...chocolates are made for a reason" ..lol

Day 34-Why Education?

I come from a country that has proven , time and again that in order to be successful, education may not be necessary. I have seen way too many men who haven't been educated but have made shit loads of money. So why be educated? Is education a tool to having a career/making money/securing a successful partner/making a name in the society? If that is so, why not teach children in schools ONLY about Physics and Maths and Chemistry and may be a bit of money management? Why do we teach Art and craft? Why do we want children to participate in the million activities-drama, dance, music, elocution and all of that importance we lay on extra curricular activities? Why help children acquire good handwriting? Why show them to appreciate music and art? No matter how hard I think, I go back to Montessori's answer-that one theory that is the basis of the Montessori principle-EDUCATION AS AN AID TO LIFE. Day 17-Mediocrity-is the name of the game

Of the many lessons that I have learnt after a few years of working in the corporate world and a few others in education, I have come to realise something about this nation that disturbs me. I use the word Nation and not the world because I do not know about the other races and so I refrain from giving my opinion on them.
