Day 71- Temples

India-A land of a million beliefs and a trillion rituals. If there is one thing that this nation is special about-it is our belief or our temples.
Our people have a set pattern while visiting the temple. There is a way in which each deity is prayed to. Going to the temple is for "good" people. Going to the temple will give you everything you want. It is the place where you can pretty much dissolve all your sins in.
Technically one must feel light, hopeful, peaceful and happy while returning from the temple, but it is seldom that way.
It is the place where equality doesn't exist for sure. A separate line for "special Dharshan" aka "queue for rich people"because rich people deserve to see GOD earlier/sooner/more comfortably.
Counters to sell "offerings"-customised for your problem which usually is for money, marriage, child or health.
Temples are the place where MAXIMUM  judgement happens. The priest will judge you by how you look, how pious you seem, What you are wearing and how much you offer in the plate that carries the holy fire and the holy ash.
Temple is the place where people usually GOSSIP the most , discuss their wealth and prosperity and also their problems.
Temples are marketed and branded based on word of mouth by people who claim to have got all that they prayed for. More the branding, more the crowd and obviously more the cost for special Dharshan.
It is also the place where minimum humanity exists. People will push and stamp you and ..sorry is not a word we use in the temple. Its a temple dude...understand my frustration..I have a lot to beg for!
I don't know if I am the only one..but a trip to the temple usually puts me in the most hopeless, confused state..so much so..that I think that since God is omnipresent..I might as well have a private communication with Him at my home.
Are you a regular temple goer?? Do you feel any of what I have ?
