Day 72-We are all sexists and racists

I had a colleague who was a very NICE person..she would say the kindest of words in the sweetest of tone and never once was she politically incorrect. But I would always run away from her. Her kindness hurt me. He sweetness would always kindle a sense of insecurity and insufficiency that I didn't know existed in my life.
Of late,thanks to the media and the many "movements", everything around me in nice and glossy and "CORRECT" but there is something amiss. I am unable to identify fake from real.This fairness has become embedded in our ecosystem so much that once in a while..."wrong" statements even if for sensation soothes and reassures.
One of those ideas that has completely infected our system ..is this idea of feminism.To believe that women are superior..that men are meant to be ill treated...and that anything a woman does is right..... is not feminism..it is still chauvinism(in my honest opinion).
To separate achievement and potential from gender..To assess merit in "ACTION" irrespective of gender ...now that is feminism..No?
There is another movement that took our society by storm..."black is beautiful" ..Its where dark women in our country propagate themselves to be beautiful...the other unsaid truth about it is "white is ugly". Well...beauty is irrespective of colour...or race.Lets talk about a scenario where a dark person behaves meanly and a white person is victimised ...Ever heard of this situation?..it is something we haven't even been able to think of....thanks to the way we have propagated "virtues" as something connected to "colour"
So in that scenario......do you think you would ever take the side of the white person?..hell no!
Now is that any healthy for the society?
Our entire society is plagued by these (thrusted)beliefs ...Some of them being...
Poor is good..rich is bad
The so called "scheduled caste" is the victimised unprivileged one....the so called "brahmin" is a monster
Child is always right...adult is always wrong
It seems to me that we have all lost our sense of "balance"..now all our decisions...all our opinions and actions are dissolved in the grease of "righteousness"
We are all sexists and racists......in the name of liberation and equality.....

Day 17-Mediocrity-is the name of the game

Of the many lessons that I have learnt after a few years of working in the corporate world and a few others in education, I have come to realise something about this nation that disturbs me. I use the word Nation and not the world because I do not know about the other races and so I refrain from giving my opinion on them. Day 34-Why Education?

I come from a country that has proven , time and again that in order to be successful, education may not be necessary. I have seen way too many men who haven't been educated but have made shit loads of money. So why be educated? Is education a tool to having a career/making money/securing a successful partner/making a name in the society? If that is so, why not teach children in schools ONLY about Physics and Maths and Chemistry and may be a bit of money management? Why do we teach Art and craft? Why do we want children to participate in the million activities-drama, dance, music, elocution and all of that importance we lay on extra curricular activities? Why help children acquire good handwriting? Why show them to appreciate music and art? No matter how hard I think, I go back to Montessori's answer-that one theory that is the basis of the Montessori principle-EDUCATION AS AN AID TO LIFE.
