Day 83-That dreaded word
Many people, me included, always complain of life being monotonous and boring, lacking adventure and newness. But when we encounter change , we panic, even regret for having asked for it. Why??
Why is change so difficult for us?
This is not a personality problem, I think this problem is universal and exists across race, division and geography.
We human beings work very hard to set routines and to create a certain comfort zone for ourselves. We fool ourself that permanency is achievable. Vacations too are fun because somewhere we know that we will go back to our abode . Relocation and movement no matter for how short a duration, are unnerving.Perhaps it is a certain fear of losing a part of the pleasures and goodness that we have strived hard to create for ourselves. We equate newness to something disturbing, negative and uncomfortable.
The more I think about it , the more I am convinced that this discomfort arises out of a lack of trust for humanity. If I knew that wherever I go, I will find people who will help me, who will walk with me, wish me well and take care of some need of mine , I do not think that change will be difficult.
Let us believe that no matter where we are in this world, there will be angels with us, protecting us and making our life better.
Let us believe in the magic of love and in hope- in the form of our fellow human beings.
Amen!
