Day 92-Managers

I have always wondered why the so called “managers” are more respected and paid as compared to the team members who actually do intelligent, specialised  and collossal work. I am convinced that I now have an answer. 
The most difficult skill to possess, is to be able to work with the egos of fellow human beings..to work in a team..to work in harmony..to compromise on a few things yet never let go of the focus . This is certainly not an easy task as most of you must have realized. Gaining the trust of people and working towards their upliftment is by far the most difficult of all tasks and if one were to be able to patiently put up with the idiosyncrasies of people, yet get them to perform their tasks dutifully, that person truly deserves more credit. I am in complete awe of such people and respect them for all the trouble they are going through with the different temperaments and for always trusting in their people for this trust cannot be taught or acquired.

To all my fellow weird humans, I am like you too, and I can tell you , we are giving our bosses a bloody tough time…So let us atleast in our hearts thank them and respect them for the dirtiest job that they are doing. J

Day 17-Mediocrity-is the name of the game

Of the many lessons that I have learnt after a few years of working in the corporate world and a few others in education, I have come to realise something about this nation that disturbs me. I use the word Nation and not the world because I do not know about the other races and so I refrain from giving my opinion on them. In case you have been fortunate enough to have an extremely talented person as a relative or a friend or if that person happens to be you-someone who wouldn't settle for anything less than excellence, you might have noticed that these people are usually what the society would call "unsuccessful" or "unpopular". Day 34-Why Education?

I come from a country that has proven , time and again that in order to be successful, education may not be necessary. I have seen way too many men who haven't been educated but have made shit loads of money. So why be educated? Is education a tool to having a career/making money/securing a successful partner/making a name in the society? If that is so, why not teach children in schools ONLY about Physics and Maths and Chemistry and may be a bit of money management? Why do we teach Art and craft? Why do we want children to participate in the million activities-drama, dance, music, elocution and all of that importance we lay on extra curricular activities? Why help children acquire good handwriting? Why show them to appreciate music and art? No matter how hard I think, I go back to Montessori's answer-that one theory that is the basis of the Montessori principle-EDUCATION AS AN AID TO LIFE.
