Day 97-I knew it!!

There was a guy who had been waiting for a long time to take a girl on a date. After a lot of hard work and waiting ,one day, she agreed to go with him -a day when he least expected it to happen. It was difficult for him to believe this at first. 
He decided to make it one hell of a night. He bought special clothes for the occasion, planned the venue with care, reconfirmed subtly with her  many times and promised to pick her up on a  certain day and time . As he was driving to her place that night, the traffic signals turned green everywhere and let him pass without any hassle. And he asked himself…What is wrong? Why is everything so right? He reached at her place on time to see this gorgeous girl dressed in the most beautiful little black dress that showed off her beautiful body and he couldn’t believe that she had taken so much care to dress up for him? What is wrong with the world? ..he thought.
They reached the restaurant, to be received very warmly and were served by the most charming, cheerful waiter who was willing to go to any extent to see his guests happy. Do such people exist in the world? He thought!
The girl was so eager and happy to not just talk…but to listen to him..his ideas..his plans..his dreams.
Why is everything so perfect? he asked himself.
One after another the courses arrived, they had a great conversation and the food was cooked to perfection.
He was wondering as to whether a date can be this perfect. He was willing to give the relationship a shot and started imagining proposing to her at this very restaurant, years from him. He corrected himself right then, saying…It is not right to dream so big, because such things happen in the movies only.
Dessert arrived. The final course now..after which probably he was going to her place or she to his…because chances were very high. But he didn’t dare to dream of it because knowing this girl, she might ditch him at the last moment.
Just when he was about the put the desert in his mouth, he coughed and spat the dessert on her face.
He then told himself...
"Yessssss…I knew this would happen" 
Something similar happened to me today. A colleague and me left early from work..something we had never hoped for. The buses were on time..so were the trains..We would be reaching home very early. We were talking about how the day turned out to be full of surprises. Instead of being grateful, she said ..I am scared that everything is fine..Something might go wrong tomorrow. As she was saying this jokingly, her metro card failed to read and did not let her pass through the door..
"See…I told you…something had to go wrong " …she said.
The truth really is that if you expect good things to happen they will..AND if you expect bad things to happen..they will too..So be hopeful..be stupidly positive ..becuase the universe is all set to make all things you dream of..happen to you..

Day 17-Mediocrity-is the name of the game

Of the many lessons that I have learnt after a few years of working in the corporate world and a few others in education, I have come to realise something about this nation that disturbs me. I use the word Nation and not the world because I do not know about the other races and so I refrain from giving my opinion on them. Day 34-Why Education?

I come from a country that has proven , time and again that in order to be successful, education may not be necessary. I have seen way too many men who haven't been educated but have made shit loads of money. So why be educated? Is education a tool to having a career/making money/securing a successful partner/making a name in the society? If that is so, why not teach children in schools ONLY about Physics and Maths and Chemistry and may be a bit of money management? Why do we teach Art and craft? Why do we want children to participate in the million activities-drama, dance, music, elocution and all of that importance we lay on extra curricular activities? Why help children acquire good handwriting? Why show them to appreciate music and art? No matter how hard I think, I go back to Montessori's answer-that one theory that is the basis of the Montessori principle-EDUCATION AS AN AID TO LIFE.
